About Olivia
Olivia is a versatile artist, making her mark with the musical IDA in 2018 and has been exploring physical theatre since 2019. She is the first person in Chinese-Australian Cross-Cultural Physical Theatre, with works spanning screen and music. Olivia works with a range of government and non-government agencies, festivals, organisations and communities. She now heads Cross Encounters, a renowned NFP performing arts company in Melbourne.
As an innovator in the cross-cultural performing arts field, Olivia has been invited by several arts institutions and arts groups to provide Chinese-Australian performing arts expertise.
Since the end of 2023, she has brought innovative improvisational theatre shows to the audience. Olivia Wang's dedication to showcasing Asian-Australian culture through the performing arts has made a significant impact, earning her the title of the winner of contributions to Arts and Culture award in Yarra in 2024.
As an ascending contemporary screen actor, Olivia Wang has won the title of Actress In A Leading Role in International Independent Film Awards; best actress award at Thilsri International Film Festival; best actress at Athvikvaruni International Film Festival; best actress at Rohip International Film Festival and Thilsri International Film Festival, as well as a finalist at the New York International Film Awards.
Her recent project Wake Her Up has achieved wide acclaim, boosting the profile of actor Olivia Wang and production team Cross Encounters. To date, Wake Her Up has been selected in 25 international film festivals, finding large enthusiastic audiences, across North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia.
These achievements underscore Olivia Wang's presence as a leading figure in the Chinese-Australian performing arts scene.

She began as the first actor to perform Chinese-Australian cross-cultural physical theatre on stage, taking on lead roles in several productions.

Her credits include Spring Romance_headlining show (2024), Dumplings Feast (art Musical event drama showcase, 2024 ), Christmas Romance (Asian Australian Drama Music Festival, 2023), A friendship of life and death (the first ever Chinese Opera physical theatre piece to be presented in Australia, 2023), Nirvana (a first Guitar/Guzheng musical collaboration in Chinese-Australian physical theatre area, 2021), A Stone’s Throw (the first ever physical theatre piece combining Chinese and Australian performers under a Chinese director, 2020).
As a screen actress she also has several screen experience including film, TV, music video and web series in Australia and China.

As an acting coach and theatre choreography, Olivia has been invited by several local arts communities and group including Austrialian Art Youth Academy, SJ community, MUSU theatre group, etc. to give theatre workshops and acting tutorials, to present at relevant workshops and activities, to provide theatrical presentations for theatre lovers.
